All Security Officers are trained to the right level and their SIA recognised qualification consists of:

Part 1

This section of the course covers the following topics:

  • Introduction to the Security Industry and Roles and Responsibilities of Security Officers
  • Patrolling
  • Access Control
  • Searching
  • Security and Emergency Systems
  • Fire Safety
  • Health and Safety at Work
  • The Law
  • Emergencies
  • Customer Care and Social Skills
  • Communications and Reporting
  • Equality and Diversity

Part 2 - Communication Skills and Conflict Management

This section of the course covers the following topics:

  • Avoiding Conflict and Reducing Risk
  • Defusing Conflict
  • Resolving Conflict
  • Post-incident Considerations and Learning from Conflict

Other specialist training is provided to meet the individual needs of the client and to develop the skills of the security officers and may include:

  • First Aid – in accordance with the requirements of Health & Safety at Work Act.
  • Fire Wardens – trained by the relevant fire service.
  • Health & Safety – accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
  • Retail Security – for shopping precincts and department stores.
  • Guard Dog Training – as specified by NASDU (the National Association of Security Dog Users) in accordance with the Guard Dog Act.
  • Such other training as may be required and relevant to a particular site or Assignment.
